It's official!

As promised, I'm adding updates to Elder Sawyer's blog now that he's officially in the MTC.
Everything went as planned last week, ending--I should say "beginning" --with Elder Sawyer donning his name tag in the MTC.

We flew out to California from Texas late on Saturday night. Sunday evening we went to the Stake President's office and enjoyed the blessing of witnessing a new missionary being set apart...I'll try to manipulate this technology and attach a photo of that night...thanks to the forethought of Ashley and her camera.
Monday morning we flew to SLC and stayed with our good friends/family Susann and Wendy in their lovely home in Orem. They spoiled and treated us to great food and a car to find our way to the Mt. Timpanogas temple on Tuesday--it was a wonderful experience.

Elder Sawyer looked happy and ready as we sat in the MTC chapel along with dozens of other missionaries and their families. THEN, however, he was asked to give the opening prayer for the assembly...he looked great sitting on the stand with the mission presidency, and singing Called to Serve without the luxury of the teleprompter the congregation had...and he did great. After hugs and minimal eye "leaks" he said "no fear, only faith" and turned around and kept walking without looking back. We watched him talking to other missionaries and knew he was going to be JUST FINE without us.

Till September 16th his address will be: Steven Aaron Sawyer
