Surprise, surprise, very exciting, already a letter from Elder Sawyer!
He wrote it the first day, and won't be able to write again until tomorrow, but we'll assume things are still going as well as they sound like they did on that first day after we left him.
He sounds very happy! He really likes his companion, Elder May, who is also going to the same mission in North Carolina. That first day he met all the Elders in his "district" and had an interview with a counselor in the Branch Presidency. Soon after that he was assigned to serve as a zone leader...who knew they had zone leaders in the MTC?!
He also wrote that the website DearElder.com is very popular among the missionaries and FREE! I tried it out last night and it looks like it will be a great tool to get those letters to the missionaries right away--unlike regular emails that they have to wait till P-day to read. You write the letter online, they print it, put it in an envelope and deliver it the next day...again, for FREE!
His P-day while in the MTC is on Wednesdays, and they are expected to write an email to their families on that day...so, more to come after we receive that.
